Interested artists should plan on doing a tour of the La Reunion TX site prior to submitting an application. The application forms and print-ready versions of the Call for Artists are on each link. Please contact Sarah@LaReunionTX.org if you have any questions!
La Reunion TX seeks three (or more) varied musical
acts willing to perform in a natural, outdoor setting as a sound installation
for a new Fall Music Series. Are you an Opera
singer? In a classical music quartet? A
kinetic sound ensemble or use non-traditional instruments? We are looking for you. All acoustical acts are welcome to apply –
and keep in mind there is no electricity on site. We will book three (or more) outdoor music
concerts on TBA Sunday afternoons for our supporters, members and the general
public. Events are totally off-grid and
your music will complement (or compete with) the natural sounds of the La
Reunion TX site, such as crickets, natural springs and falling leaves.
Third Annual Art Chicas Unidas
La Reunion TX teams up with Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, Dallas Art Dealers Association, and Deaf Action Center to produce
Art Chicas Unidas,
a program to engage artists in the Dallas area to become involved in
the artistic development of high school girls. Women artists working
in all media are encouraged to apply.
Four professional female artists will lead teams
of 4 girls for five hours on Saturday, November 7, 2009 to create art
on and from the LRTX site in an outdoor workshop setting. An Open
House the following weekend will be conducted to share the artwork and
installations with our supporters and the public.
